WHAT HOLE IS IT?

I have been doing the WHAT HOLE IS IT? for going on 10 years. It started when I ran the social media and email marketing for Puetz Golf, a golf retailer in Seattle, WA. I primarily used pictures that I took while on golf trips which meant most holes were from the Pacific Northwest or California.

The contest has really taken off with participation from The Society of Golf Historians Facebook group (a group I highly recommend joining). This knowledgeable group never fails to impress me with their golf course and golf course architecture chops. Since the group is world-wide, it did not take long for them to call me out on the proclivity of west coast courses. I then used the internet, usually from the featured golf course's website, as opposed to just using my own photos to expand the geographic reach of courses.

Now, here's your chance to pick the hole used in the weekly contest. Every third Thursday of the month we will feature a hole submitted by a subscriber to this newsletter. Simply email the hole and picture (if you have one, and we'll give you photo credit in the post) to larry@9acespublishing.com and we will select the best one to run as the contest hole.

If we choose your hole you will win a 2021 WHAT HOLE IS IT? wall calendar. Spoiler alert: in this COVID year I did not make many trips and as the images used on the calendar need to be high resolution, I have to use photos I've taken as opposed to images from the internet. Subsequently, the calendar is very Pacific Northwest centered. We have limited quantities of the calendar, so we'll pick a new prize when they run out. Stay tuned.
